Bocce League 2019

On the heels of a successful inaugural season, the Peter Igo Park Bocce League goes into season two with a head of steam and a new commissioner.

“We are very much looking forward to getting the team roster filled and the new season underway. It’s spring, and bocce is in the air!!!” said newly installed commissioner Eddie Finocchiaro, who looks forward to a banner year. “This season is going to leverage the successes of last year and look to make whatever improvements we can,” he added.

The league will commence on May 30th and conclude just after Labor Day, with a round-robin and a Spaghetti-and-Meatballs dinner/awards banquet. Games will be on Thursday night, and after bocce, The Jetty will be providing all “giocatores” (that’s “bocce player” in Italian) with half-price appetizers.

Teams will consist of two-to-four players, and we will have two matches (tentative times – 6 and 7:30 pm) each Thursday. So, if we get 16 teams, you will be playing every other week – something to look forward to all week!!!

Entry fee will be $35 per person – for this you will get:

  • A cool Peter Igo hat

  • Awards

  • Italian music

  • The end of year banquet with trophies

  • The happiness in knowing that you have made a donation to a great institution and resource for the Town of Marshfield - Peter Igo Park!

We had a full contingent (16 teams) last year, so get your “squadra” (that’s “team” in Italian) together and sign up ASAP!!!
